Casting out unclean spirits is a necessary process to deliver people. Both believers and unbelievers are relentlessly attacked by the forces of darkness. The difference between demonic oppression and possession is this: oppression is an attack and possession is a partnership. When somebody is suffering from mental and physical attacks of the enemy, they are being oppressed, especially if they want nothing to do with the agenda from hell.

This is somewhat different than people who purposefully engage in sin, hate the Word of God and do not want deliverance. Those who want to be set free from demonic torment are oppressed; however, those who wish to continue in their sin and advance the doctrine of the devil, they become easy targets for ‘possession’. Believers in Jesus are called to set captives free, and this includes the healing ministry of casting out demonic spirits in Jesus name! In fact, Acts 5:16 tells us that ‘healing’ is also carried out through deliverance of unclean spirits.
