In the earthly realm, it is our human nature to pursue success and become influential for issues that matter the most to us. In the kingdom of God, we are called to be servants of the Lord and pursue His agenda, above our own. Nobody can become a leader unless they first become a servant, and this is the mindset that Jesus had as He walked the earth. He is the author of our faith, and also set the perfect example as both a servant and leader. While every believer is called to serve, not everyone is called to become a church leader. As a result, leaders should never take their calling for granted.
